Dual Study Program
The Duale Studium is a unique educational system in Germany that combines academic studies at a university or a University of Applied Sciences with practical training in a company. Students spend part of their time studying theory in the classroom and the other part working in the company, where they gain real-world experience in their field of study. This model is typically offered in fields such as engineering, business, and IT. The program usually lasts between 3 and 4 years and leads to a bachelor’s degree. The key advantage of the Duale Studium is that students can directly apply what they learn in the workplace while earning a salary.
Dual Apprenticeship
The Duale Ausbildung (Dual Vocational Training) is a well-established system in Germany where individuals combine practical training in a company with theoretical education at a vocational school (Berufsschule). This type of training is often geared towards skilled trades, technical professions, or service industries. The program typically lasts between 2 and 3 years, and trainees receive a qualification such as an apprenticeship certificate. Unlike the Duale Studium, the Duale Ausbildung does not lead to a university degree but focuses on developing practical skills for a specific trade or profession.
